The $1.3 billion River of Life revitalization program in Kuala Lumpur was a massive undertaking to reconnect the city to its waterways. With 25 water treatment plants and pump stations across 781 hectares, operators would have to perform roughly 1,300 yearly site visits for just baseline maintenance awareness. Not only was this an inefficient use of manhours; it was also extremely costly. Online monitoring was a nonnegotiable requirement.
To deploy the new water treatment remote control and monitoring system, the Malaysian government contracted Solution A&C Technology, an Opto 22 OptoPartner for over 30 years.
