Opto 22 groov Box with Node-REDWe've just released groov Admin 1.570.46, with a new feature some of you have been asking for: the ability to use data from serial devices with your GROOV AR1 Box.

Using a USB-to-serial converter and Node-RED software (included in the GROOV AR1), you can connect RS‑232, RS‑485, or RS‑422 serial devices (2‑wire or 4‑wire) to the groov Box.

You can use the data from connected serial devices in your Node-RED flows, and a flow can place the data in a groov Data Store so you can use it in your groov operator interface as well.

For more information on connecting to serial devices, see Chapter 4: "Using Node-RED" in the groov Box User's Guide for GROOV AR1

The new groov Admin release also includes a couple of bug fixes for backups and a handy enhancement: some basic groov information (versions and system type) now appears in the groov Admin login page, so you don't have to be logged in to see it.

For more about the release, see the groov Admin Readme

To get the new groov Admin 1.570.46, log into manage.groov.com and click "Show" next to your AR1 box in the list. You'll see groov Admin at the top of the Downloads list.
