When it comes to menu options, are you allowed to have favorites?
There is just so much cool stuff behind the "Info & Help" button for all things automation—I'm just going to start at the top and bullet point my way down the nine buttons. I could easily blog about each of the nine because of the power of each.
But you'll get a condensed summary in groov Manage: Info & Help.
About. It’s amazing the number of times I hear something like "I just started" or "I have inherited this system"—or words to that effect. If you need to know everything about your groov, this is the button to click.
System Status. Need a quick overview of CPU, memory, and disk space? This is your one stop for all that (and a little more). As you have probably noticed, each of the processes has status screens, but this one is the master. It is the place to visit to see how your groov device is working as a whole.
Logs. A few of us love reading them, most don’t; either way is fine. Regardless, if you need them, they are ALL here—along with a powerful one-click button to download them all in one hit.
Quick Start. Set up the things that really matter quickly via this option.
Documentation. I bet I am not the only one who loves to RTFM. Reading The Fantastic Manual(s) is how I got my start with all things Opto 35+ years ago. They were fantastic then, and they are fantastic now. They are all here in one spot. All of them are built right into the groov product. No downloads are required, and all of them exactly match the version of firmware that's running on your groov.
I/O Reference. Wiring diagrams and module specifications are all under one button. This is the place to go when you have any sort of question about connecting I/O signals to your groov device.
REST APIs. Programmatic access to all things groov? Sign me up! Not only that, but you can test all the API calls right from your browser, via the Swagger interface. This is more than a little bit mind-blowing.
Support Download. One button click to get all the data our Product Support Group will need to help you out. It's just so easy to get free support and help you speed up your groov installation and commissioning.
OptoSupport RSS. At your control, Opto's Remote Support Service can establish an outbound VPN connection to allow our team to help diagnose and answer some of the trickier support issues that might come up.
groov Manage simplifies finding out how your system works, and the nitty-gritty details are all at your fingertips anytime you need it. You can jump in as much or as little as you need, but regardless, it's empowering to know the details are just a click away.
