New case study shows you how Optimum Technologies overcame a lack of experience in industrial controls to quickly build an entirely new thermal vacuum facility.

Can you build a sophisticated test and control system in just one week—with no controls experience?

Optimum Technologies did. Discover how they used groov EPIC to quickly build a thermal vacuum test system, streamline data collection and control, and even uncover a problem with their new test chamber.

Get the details from this new case study, and see what you can take away for your own automation project.

Optimum Technologies, a space and defense engineering company based in Sterling, Virginia, helps organizations put hardware in space. This means performing extensive testing here on Earth before sending the hardware past the exosphere. Thermal vacuum (TVAC) chambers are used to simulate the temperature extremes the hardware will see in orbit.

When building a brand-new thermal vacuum (TVAC) facility for an upcoming test, the Optimum Technologies team realized critical pieces were missing: a data acquisition (DAQ) system for logging sensor readings, a system to trigger heater circuits, and a way for the engineers to remotely access all of it. With the time crunch and no experience standing up an industrial controls system, getting ready for the test was going to be even more of a challenge.

In this case study, find out how Optimum Technologies overcame a lack of experience in industrial controls to successfully (and quickly) build an entirely new TVAC facility, complete with the required test controls system.
