There's still time to join the Ignition Community

Posted by Janice Colmer on Aug 26, 2025 12:51:52 PM

Here are more reasons you should attend this year's Ignition Community Conference—hosted by Inductive Automation.

Have you used Ignition software in any of your industrial applications?

Opto 22’s groov EPIC edge programmable industrial controllers and the groov RIO GRV-R7-MM2001-10 edge I/O module come with Inductive Automation’s Ignition Edge®.

Your groov EPIC or groov RIO with Ignition Edge can do things like enable data buffering, publish and subscribe to data through MQTT, supply remote alarming, and much more.

The best way to learn just how powerful this technology combination can be is by networking and learning from Ignition experts from all over the world. See what's possible at this year's Ignition Community Conference.

Why should you attend?

The Ignition community is the most innovative and collaborative group in the automation industry, and ICC is where they gather every year to learn and share about Ignition. From new users to seasoned integrators, you'll find opportunities to network and learn from industry professionals.

This year's conference theme is "Level Up" and promises to:

  • Level up your insights (a full schedule of speaker sessions and table talk topics to choose from)
  • Level up your technology (hear about new Ignition features and upcoming releases)
  • Level up your discoveries (the annual Discover Gallery returns with new Ignition case studies from a variety of industries)

A Suggestion for Day 2

Don't miss Opto 22's Director of Technical Marketing, Dan White, as he presents on the topic of machine monitoring.

Ready to Level Up Your Machine Monitoring Game?

Do you have dark, unconnected operational data stranded on the plant floor or in the field? While Ignition excels at connecting PLC-based equipment, many assets without PLCs or smart devices can be far more challenging.

Join this session to discover how to use edge industrial I/O to securely link almost any equipment to Ignition—including simple sensors—enhancing your plant's production tracking and operational awareness.

You’ll also see real-world case studies, including the story of a Tier 1 automotive supplier that successfully implemented these techniques, improving efficiency, creating a Unified Namespace (UNS), and advancing its digitalization efforts as a result.

Join the Opto 22 Huddle

Something new at ICC this year....Huddles! A huddle is an opportunity for conference attendees to meet up with speakers and thought leaders at the conference in a relaxed environment. It's a great time to ask one-on-one questions in a more casual setting. Huddles start 30 minutes before a session, and last an hour.

Head on over to the Co-Lab room to huddle with Opto 22: Wednesday, Sept. 17, 4:00 PM PDT.

Don't miss the Build-a-Thon Finale

Thursday, Sept 18, 3:15 PM - 4:30 PM PDT

If you're an ICC veteran, you know the buzz at the conference ultimately ends up being about the Build-a-Thon which happens on Day 3. Watch two system integrator teams hone in on their Ignition skills and compete live on stage.

This year's Build-a-Thon promises more surprises and challenges for the two finalists: BW Design Group and SAFEgroup Automation.

And for the fourth year in a row, Opto 22 engineers are busy designing and building the sets for this year's EPIC BaT adventure.
