groov RIO enables affordable equipment-as-a-service designs that are easy to deploy

Equipment-as-a-service (EaaS) involves renting out or providing access to equipment and collecting payment periodically, rather than selling the equipment outright. This payment model enables end users to pay for costly or infrequently used equipment as an ongoing operating expense, which can open new markets for machine builders.

Technology Partnership helps Corso develop leading edge solutions for customers
In our latest OptoPartner video, Alex Marcy, President of Corso Systems, talks about how his company was remote before that was required. This made it easy to find the best talent, regardless of location, and gave his company the ability to help customers across the globe. Nine years later, this has allowed Corso to successfully complete integration projects in a wide range of industries including food and beverage, consumer goods manufacturing, oil and gas and mining among others.

One community makes the leap into MQTT-based utility management
Formally organized in 1834, Waterford Township is located geographically in the center of Oakland County, Michigan, USA, and is home to over 72,000 residents. It is known regionally for its 34 lakes, from which it earns its name.
However, in the public utilities industry, Waterford is known for its leadership and persistent innovation in water/wastewater management. The Department of Public Works has been featured previously in an Opto 22 case study, and a generation later, DPW is working on another landmark project.

Couldn't get into our HiveMQ webinar? You can still try out the live demo for yourself! Just follow along with this recording.
Integrating and sharing data between different systems and services is a key challenge to IIoT applications. Many IIoT architectures become a complex set of integration "spaghetti," as Dominik Obermaier, CTO and co-founder of HiveMQ, explains. Even with MQTT as the hub of an IIoT system, true interoperability can be difficult to achieve.
We are always looking for ways to help you solve that challenge and build your own robust IIoT systems, so we teamed up with HiveMQ to present an Introduction to MQTT Sparkplug - Plug 'n Play Interoperability for IIoT.

OptoPartner video from Enginuity features IIoT based technologies
Many automation systems integrators are expanding beyond what we might consider “traditional” skill sets into technologies that may typically be the purview of IT professionals or software developers. While instrumentation, controls and SCADA obviously play a critical role in digital transformation, bridging the gap between OT and IT can require additional tools like Node-RED, REST APIs, databases, pub-sub communication protocols and Linux Shell programming chops.

A common challenge of digital transformation projects and IIoT deployments is integrating and sharing data between different systems and services. Many applications become a complex set of integrations between hardware devices and software services. Even with systems based on open architecture, true interoperability can sometimes be difficult.
