Closing the Gaps with Ignition live recording now available

Posted by Janice Colmer on Oct 20, 2026, 11:10:40 AM

Watch Opto 22's Showcase from the Ignition Community Conference and see how easy it is to bring your plant's assets into Ignition for robust data and analytics.

Do you have critical assets operating outside Ignition?

When machine health, energy use, and environmental conditions stay dark, you find out about failures, wasted power, and downtime only after they've cost you.

At last month's Ignition Community Conference, Benson Hougland and Garrick Reichert took the stage for a live demo of how groov devices + Ignition can overcome these challenges simply and securely.

Partnering with 7 other technology platforms (thanks to open source standards), the demo walks you through the ACME Dynamite Factory architecture. The factory may be fictional, but the data is very real. Watch:

How to build scalable cloud SCADA

Posted by Janice Colmer on Oct 14, 2026, 8:01:58 AM

Read the new case study to learn how a multi-site agricultural application gained modern controls, remote monitoring, and real-time visibility.

What does it take to turn a complex industrial challenge into a smarter, more effective solution?

DNR Systems and Boron Tech Solutions (BTS) are here to share their success story. A boron filtration system was working well at the local level, but it needed to be duplicated easily and securely on a much larger scale across hundreds of acres of farmland.

Get the details from this new case study on how DNR and BTS found the complete package to go end-to-end for fully managed SCADA to the cloud.

Connect, learn, and get inspired at Node-RED Con 2026

Posted by Janice Colmer on Oct 14, 2026, 7:57:44 AM

Attend the annual conference for FREE and learn how to connect your industrial systems with Node-RED.

Are you interested in learning more about the Node-RED programming tool?

Included in Opto 22's groov EPIC and groov RIO is Node-RED—an open-source software program that lets you wire together devices, databases, cloud applications, and APIs (application programming interfaces) using simple, pre-built logic flows.

Node-RED is used in a wide range of mission-critical applications, from city utilities and semiconductor fabs to manufacturing lines and smart buildings.

Here's a chance to attend the online Node-RED Con for free. Get all the event details and see how Node-RED can help with your application.

Unleashed in Sacramento: An ICC 2026 Recap

Posted by Dan White on Oct 7, 2026, 9:32:52 AM

Experience the Ignition Community Conference through an Opto 22 perspective and learn why it's growing in relevance and attendance every year.

If you were at #ICCUnleashed in Sacramento, you felt it. If you weren't, here's the short version: the Ignition community keeps growing, and almost everyone I talked to wants the same thing, real data from their machines, new and old, flowing into Ignition.

Inductive Automation brought nearly 2,000 people to the SAFE Credit Union Convention Center September 22 to 24. That's nearly 2,000 different versions of ICC. I saw mine from behind the Opto 22 booth and from the stage as a speaker.

Here's a recap of the experience and why it's important to be a part of this growing Ignition community.

One factory, NOW eight partners - See it live at #ICCUnleashed

Posted by Dan White on Sep 18, 2026, 7:30:00 AM

Three new partners, a palletizer on an Allen-Bradley PLC, and secure remote access to your legacy PLCs on demand.

If you're heading to the Ignition Community Conference next week, block out Wednesday morning at 9:00 a.m. The ACME Dynamite factory we brought to Automate has grown since May, and ICC is your chance to see it live.

Quick refresher: ACME is a fictional dynamite plant built by real automation companies to answer a practical question: what happens when you pick the best tool for each layer instead of buying one vendor's whole stack?

Two lines batch and discharge product following ISA-88. Line 1 runs a well-tuned loop, Line 2 is deliberately untuned, and the trends show you what good tuning is worth. Everything on the screen is live. Go look: op22.co/acme.

Since our earlier post, we've added three partners and three new pieces of plant. You'll want to check it out.
